Bill Thorpe Walking Bridge Reopening celebration

The Bill Thorpe Walking Bridge will re-open to the public on Saturday, February 1, after four months of refurbishment work to replace the deck.

Government officials will gather at the southside of the Bridge for an official ribbon-cutting at 11 a.m.

The public is invited to then join in on a walk together across the newly opened Bridge to Picaroons Roundhouse, 912 Union Street, for a free community celebration all afternoon.

Enjoy music, and a BBQ by the new 540 North operating out of the Picaroons, hot apple cider and hot chocolate, drink specials and the Fredericton Fire Spinners.

The celebration concludes at 6:30 p.m. with a fireworks display, sponsored by Dunbar Construction and HILCON, and the newly opened Bridge offers the perfect viewing spot!
