Find your winter fun with Fredericton’s FROSTival!

Atlantic Canada’s largest winter celebration is back another year taking place January 16 - February 2 filling your calendar with events from culinary delights, showstopping performances and winter sports!

This medley of events spans three weekends and will take you from the ski hill to premiere performance venues and not to mention, you’ll always be well-fed with three course meals throughout the city at participating Dine Around Freddy restaurants for $31!

WEEK 1

This years’ festival kicks off with entertainment for all tastes this week including Fredericton Playhouse Spotlight Series: Tentacle Tribe, the New Brunswick Country Music Showcase and Cathy Hutch, to name a few!

Always a hit among the crowds, the ice sculpture showcase returns this year throughout the downtown features the work of Ice Sculptor Chef Richard Chiasson throughout the downtown core.

Plenty of opportunities to get active this FROSTival! Race under the lights at Crabbe Mountain, tie up your skates and join the crowds at the annual Daily Gleaner Skating parties, take part in the Maritime Cup cross country ski race or join the Radical Edge on a snowy nature walk at their Stars and Snow Shoe event!

Don’t forget to start making your reservations to Dine Around Freddy! Featuring 26 restaurants this year, the event is bigger and better than ever! From comfort food, to seafood and some of the region’s favourite delicacies, you’re gonna want to pack your stretchy pants!

WEEK 2

Rock Climbing fans rejoice with brand NEW event this year: UNB Rock and Ice’s Banff Mountain Film Festival Competition! Come try your hand at rock climbing the same weekend as the Banff Mountain Film Festival makes its stop in Fredericton!

The thrill of the outdoors never ends! This week featuring activities ranging from SnoGa (yoga, in the snow!) to group tent racing, and Crabbe Mountain’s Everest Challenge all taking place during weekend 2!

Soak up the arts & culture scene with events ranging from family art day to free admission to the local galleries during the Downtown Gallery Hop and ringing in the Chinese New Year with contemporary dances, music, martial arts and a fashion show!

WEEK 3

The music lover’s most anticipated weekend of FROSTival! This year celebrating its tenth anniversary in style, FROSTival flagship partner Shivering Songs will welcome names such as Matt Andersen, Motherhood, les Hay Babies and more! Experience Fredericton’s most unique performance venues from January 29 to February 2nd.

Cozy up in a theatre to see what Fredericton’s dramatists and playwrights have been up to! Branch Out Productions Presents: Murder on the Orient Express and Theatre UNB Presents: The 39 Steps.

Don’t forget to weave the markets into your schedule! With three taking place on Saturdays, there’s plenty to see and shop for at the Fredericton Boyce Farmers’ Market, the Cultural Market and the Northside Market!
