FROSTival weekend #3

Theatre, indoor, outdoor, adult, and family events round-out FROSTival’s final weekend.

It’s time for fine dining!
Dine Around Freddy is a delicious way to start your weekend; a 3 course meal for only $31 at 11 participating restaurants (ending February 4). Choose from a special chef-designed fine dining menu featuring delicious dishes created just for FROSTival.  It will be a year before its back so make your Dine Around Freddy restaurant reservation today.

A focus on visual arts
Begin the weekend with a Gallery Hop of downtown galleries and special venues (February 2), try your skills putting paint to canvas at UnCorked Creativity Night (February 3), bring the kids to Art for Frosti-Tots (February 2), take part in a family painting workshop at the Charlotte Street Arts Centre (February 4), and make a snowflake at a teen and adult snowflake making station at the Fredericton Public Library (February 3). Plan to visit the new Beaverbrook Art Gallery with special guided tours of the International Wing and new pavilion (February 3 and 4); come see the Dali in a brand new light!

Live performance in the spotlight
Local theatre delivers something for everyone this weekend. Theatre STU presents: What’s Next (January 31 – February 3), Theatre UNB presents: Bone Cage by Catherine Banks (January 31 – February 3), and RENT is a special performance by Collective Theatrics (February 1 – 3).

Music fills the air, indoors and out, this weekend. Corked Wine Bar hosts Sleepy Driver Trio, presented by Music Runs Through it (February 1), Roots & Soul Music Promotions presents: Art of the possible (February 2) and Adyn Townes (February 3), join Carla Bonnell By the Fire (February 3) in Officers’ Square, join the Waasail – Fire & Music (February 3), you won’t want to miss Girls Nite Out featuring Eliza Kurt (February 2) - SOLD OUT, and Basia Bulat (February 3) at the Fredericton Playhouse.

Hands-on learning
Fun like you’ve never had before at an adults only science night: Science East After Dark (February 2). Craft your own masterpiece with edVentures Fredericton’s workshops: Woven Wall Hanging (February 3) and Crafting Sacred Copper Bowls (February 3).  Join Frank Scott for Whisky nosing and tasting (February 3) at the Lunar Rogue SOLD OUT, take a tour of craft breweries (February 3), lather up at UNB’s Leisure Learning Soap Making workshop (February 3 and February 4), and build your own Grimross Growler carrier (February 4). Be sure to register in advance as spaces are limited at most events.
