Snowflake Making Station – Teen & Adult
January 20, 27 & Feb 3, 10am | Fredericton Public Library (2nd Floor)| FREE
There’s something about cutting, cutting, cutting…then: Voila! Opening up the folds to a beautifully made snowflake! After you’ve admired your handiwork, you can take it home to display on the fridge or leave it in the library gallery for all to see and appreciate!  New this year, this activity is for teens and adults to enjoy!

Architectural Features Scavenger Hunt
January 18 - February 3, FREE | Around Fredericton
Do you like the game of “I Spy”? This is one of my most favourite games that I played with my kids, and I still love the challenge of finding secret or little known items.  With this in mind, the “Architectural Features Scavenger Hunt is like the I Spy game that we all loved, so in celebration of Heritage Week,  Fredericton Heritage Trust is asking you to get up close and personal with heritage structures through a scavenger hunt! So look up, down and all around in and around the downtown! Entries with the most correct answers will be entered into the draw for first, second and third place prizes for adult and children. Winners will be chosen and contacted February 4th.

Beaverbrook Art Gallery: Family Art Workshop

Why not collaborate with your son or daughter on a really cool art project? This workshop’s inspiration will be Fredericton’s winter scenes from the past. Artist Robert Melanson will be there to get participants to rev up their creative juices to produce a one-of-a-kind masterpiece!

Astronomy At UNB
January 19 & 20, 7:30pm-9:30pm | I.U.C. Physics & Admin building, 8 Bailey Drive, UNB campus | FREE  (Space is limited, registration required).
There is nothing more AMAZING than gazing at the nighttime sky, complete with an explanation why these constellations are there in the first place! And kids will love looking through the telescope at the winter night sky. Some of the nighttime sky attractions: the Moon, Orion Nebula, the Andromeda Galaxy, and the Pleiades open star cluster. This is a great way to introduce kids to the very cool world of astronomy! Pre-registration is preferred.

An Afternoon of Family Crafts and Art Exploration

Expose your child to art in its many forms! At Gallery 78, you will find all art forms on display but the common theme is Atlantic Canada! Kids can even watch the artists create some of their amazing work on site! Come be inspired and learn about the tradition of art making. Enjoy hot chocolate and cookies while exploring this historic building and the beautiful art on display and as a special treat, kids can creating sculptures and pottery out of clay, and making decorative art cards for Valentine’s Day! 

Family Tennis Extravaganza!

Stars & Snowshoes

The Radical Edge wants you to experience a moonlight snowshoe hike! A shuttle bus will take you to the trailhead in Marysville; kid friendly hike begins at 7pm, adult hike at 8:30 – and top it all off with post-hike snacks and hot beverages!

9 Toe Winter Adventure
